　　出于对复旦的仰慕和对金融的兴趣，我报考了复旦大学金融硕士。备考期间，对专业知识有了更深的认识。同时，也了解到一些中国经济的现实情况。尤其对金融潜在风险、金融改革、货币政策、影子银行以及民企融资难等问题极感兴趣。这些现象好像都有其内在的联系性，希望能够在研究生阶段深入钻研。（希望引导老师提问我会的问题）

 

　　本科时代或许更注重对通识的涉猎。若有幸能进入复旦，希望能够在老师的指导下，通过专业的学术训练，从而掌握系统的研究方法，最终能够独立进行学术研究。谢谢各位老师的聆听！

　　1.为什么考研？

 

　　……Later, I discovered that once there is a thing that has been done for a long time, it has become meaning in itself. As Russell said, any one thing has its deep fun. When preparing for the exam, I found the fun of learning, the fun of learning economy and finance. During the preparation period, I have re-learned all of my financial-related courses and have determined to master these knowledge at a deeper level. In this process, I have found that those pieces of knowledge have their inherent connections with each other and tend to form a large and complicated knowledge system. I have realized that every single theory or model in the coursebooks has undergone rigorous logical reasoning and practical testing, therefore representing the essence of the intelligence of human. I have experienced the process of knowledge accumulation and its subtleties and connections. However, I might have been merely exposed to general knowledge in college days. What I want to do in my further postgraduate graduate years is to gain some insights of where knowledge comes from and how is knowledge formed, and try to create knowledge by myself during which I could possibly learn to think independently and equip myself with more advanced methods to solve problems.

 

　　2.为什么选择复旦？

 

　　First of all, of course, it is because Fudan University has a good academic atmosphere. It is among first-class universities in China and its economics school also ranks top. Moreover, I have considered geographical factors as well. Shanghai is where I grew up and where I would like to work in the future. I believe Fudan can provide me with rich alumni resources.

 

　　Secondly, Fudan has a really beautiful campus. During the half year of preparation for the postgraduate entrance examinations here, every day I walked through the path with sycamore trees on both sides, looked up at Guanghua Building and then stepped into the library to start learning. When I was in a bad mood, I always walked around the campus and the beautiful scenery could cheer me up.

 

　　Last but not least, Fudan’s unofficial school motto “anything for nothing” touched me. When I first heard it, I felt that it really fits me. “Anything” represents the freedom of thought while “for nothing” is the intentional alienation of the utilitarianism around us. I understand the vastness of the world and the smallness of the individual, but I am still willing to seek knowledge and explore infinite possibilities of life. I am looking forward to being a Fudan student, working for nothing but myself.

 

　　3. 为什么读金融？

 

　　Finance is a tool that was invented by human beings to better allocate different concrete and abstract resources. As the economic status of Chinese begins to take off, Finance performs a significant role for it helps people to better manage their fortune. As practical and widely-used as Finance is, the subject has no boundary on industries such as brokers, banks and funds but also merges into all professions and trades such as http://JD.com <https://link.zhihu.com/?target=http://JD.com> and Alibaba. Especially under the circumstance of ‘e+’, the financial market of China breaks the limit of traditional means, leading to unpredictable potential in the future development.

　　In my paper, a panel data model is used to empirically study the correlation between institutional investors’ shareholding and the protection of minor shareholders’ interests in Shenzhen Main-Board listed companies during the period of 2011-2015. The results of this research show that the more shareholdings of QFII and pressure-responsive institutional investors, the greater the impact on the protection of the interests of minor shareholders; and pressure-sensitive institutional investors produce no effect on this issue. In practical sense, the research results of this paper provide reference for the regulatory agencies to vigorously develop and actively guide institutional investors, thereby improving the efficiency of corporate governance and giving full play to the function of institutional investors as “security market stabiliser”.

　　As I have said in self introduction, I believe becoming one of your students can cast me one step closer to my dream: working as a professional analyst in an investment bank to get closer look at the economy and financial status of different industries. In the long run, I would compete for a position of CFO in one of the quoted enterprises by utilising my vision to make proper investment strategies for my company. With targeted strategies, I will help my company achieve higher goals in asset management and gain greater return.
